I'm naming this blog "The King is Calling" because God wants to talk with me - and with you. He is my King and I hope he is yours.
In his book Prayer, the Norwegian Christian O. Hallesby made a wonderful point which I have cherished for many years.
He took Jesus' words in Revelation 3:20 and applied them to prayer: "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Hallesby said all I have to do is invite Jesus into my circumstances and he will talk with me.
Just picture Jesus standing at your door and knocking. It shows how much he loves you and wants to be with you. All you have to do is open the door and invite him in.
Now, a note about this blog.
I will share with readers short items on what I am reading and learning about prayer. I will refer to books, to scripture, to what others have said about prayer. And I will occasionally mention personal stories on prayer.
